Johnny Donnelly

Hi, I’m Johnny.

I’m a qualified Person-Centred Counsellor, based in Cheam, South West London, and I work with people both in person and online.

I’m also a gay man, so I know first-hand that life can sometimes be a bit complicated. Relationships, sex, body image, loneliness, confidence, coming out, masculinity, getting older, family, work, or just feeling a bit lost in the whole bloody thing.

I work primarily with gay and LGBTQ+ clients, but I work with everyone. You don't need to fit into a particular box, have a particular problem, or even know exactly why you're coming to counselling.

You might have something that's been building for years. You might be going through a rough patch. Or you might simply have got to the point where you're thinking, “Right, I can't keep doing this on my own.”

That's where I come in.

My style is relaxed, straightforward and human. I won't sit there judging you, telling you what you should do or pretending I've got all the answers. I'm interested in you: how you see things, what you're experiencing and what life feels like from your side of the fence.

And you don't have to spend your first session trying to impress me or come up with some perfectly articulated explanation of what's wrong.

Just turn up. We'll take it from there.

I'm particularly interested in working with issues around identity, relationships, sex, body image, loneliness, shame, masculinity, ageing and the experiences of gay men and the wider LGBTQ+ community.

But ultimately, you don't have to come to me because you're gay, or because you've got a particular issue.

You can come because you're you, and something isn't quite right.

That's enough.
